If you haven't noticed by now, I've practically stopped writing updates on this blog. I'm going to keep this site up and running mainly for the load of pictures and because I believe that something ought to be up to account for all the time I've put into this site.
I am currently concentrating on schoolwork in addition to a little bit of photography on the side to keep me sane. I will try to post a few pictures a week on my photoblog and will write sparse, periodic updates while I attend school at my SGU blog.

Japan is throwing everything it has at us, in an attempt to remove my family from its land.
Upon our arrival in Kansai International Airport, we are informed about an incoming typhoon that has hit Okinawa. Every day, the rains come down and the typhoon plays its toll on our trip, dampening the mood by forcing us to use umbrellas while taking pictures. It is not easy using an SLR while holding an umbrella in one hand.
After the typhoon passed us over while we stayed near Mount Fuji, my dad felt a slight shake at around 10am. It turns out there was a 6.8 magnitude earthquake hitting northern Japan. As we got into Tokyo, I felt another quake (or perhaps aftershock) at 11:20pm. This one was another 6.8 off the coast of Kyoto, where we had been just two days prior.
All we need now is a volcanic eruption or perhaps the return of Godzilla.

Stephen Jackson has another worthy performance, causing the Warriors to lose.
Tonight, he went 3-17 from the field, 1-7 from the three, with most of the horrible shots coming from off-balance attempts to draw penalty shots, which he is actually good at. Furthermore, his temper and repuation lead him to foul hard after a frustrating play, leading to a flagrant foul that wasn't actually flagrant, leading to a technical foul.
In addition, I will add Kenny Mauer to my list of hate. He hands out more technicals to the Warriors than people doing flyer duty on Upper Sproul. Previously in Game 5 of Round 1, Kenny Mauer handed out two phantom back-to-back technical fouls to Stephen Jackson. These refs have it in for the Warriors are do their best to keep them from winning, it seems.
Unbelieveable calls this game: the unwarranted flagrant/technical foul combo on Stephen Jackson for reaching in, the Derek Fisher roll apparently wasn't a travel, in addition to the the multiple fouls that were not called on the Jazz at the three point line and otherwise.
All I have to say is, thank goodness this series is over. Despite the fact that I am sad the Warriors did not continue, I simply could not take any more of the retardedness that came from this series. These phantom fouls, and the refs' intolerance towards Jackson are killing me.

There. I've said it.
Yes, I do know that the Warrior's inability to shoot the free throw is the main reason that they are not able to win any games against the Jazz. Consider:
- Game 1: Jazz make 6 more free throws and win by 6.
- Game 2: Jazz hit 85percent to the Warriors' 70% and win in OT because the Warriors missed three out of four FT at the end of regulation.
- Game 3: Warriors are better from the line than the Jazz and win by 20.
- Game 4: 16 more made free throws by the Jazz and 13 missed FT by the Warriors for 62% from the line leads to panicked threes and a loss.
Yes, I also know that Stephen Jackson is probably our best FT shooter, so he is certainly not to blame there. However, consider the following:
- Game 1: Kirilenko has 7 blocks (4-5 probably due to S. Jackson), Stephen Jackson records 5 turnovers and shoots 5-14 from the field. Most of these missed shots are due to his inability to split the defender, causing him to throw a bad pass or lose the ball, or due to blocked shots. Warriors lose.
- Game 2: Kirilenko records 6 blocks guarding Jackson, who shoots a magnificent 4-18 from the field in a mad attempt to charge AK47 every possession of the game. It didn't work. Warriors lose.
- Game 3: Stephen Jackson only has 8 points on 2 of 4 shooting. He only has 3 turnovers. Yet, Warriors win by 20.
- Game 4: Jackson is back to his ways, shooting 5-15 from the field with 6 turnovers, trying to drive between the Utah players. Warriors lose.
There is an undeniable pattern emerging. If the Warriors want to continue playing in the Playoffs, Stephen Jackson better stop trying to beat Kirilenko and let Baron Davis handle the ball a little more.
Stephen Jackson, please. Do us a favor and not try to force your will against AK all the time. Make sharper passes. Please.
Go Warriors.
